Nuance. A subtle difference. A very slight difference in meaning, feeling, tone, or color.

What is Nuance’s subtle difference? Our books feature lesbian characters. Why? A primary mission of Bedazzled Ink Publishing Company is to publish works that appeal to a smaller, yet appreciative readership of works for and about women.

In many ways, Nuance is a natural extension of our ezine Khimairal Ink. The guidelines for the type of story we want for Nuance are the same as Khimairal Ink’s. We’re constantly in search of stories that are both entertaining and well-written. We are picky and emphasize the “well-written” as much as the “entertaining” part. Again why? If we accepted a book based solely on its entertainment value, the author would still have to turn it into a well-written book before we published it.

There’s more to transforming a story into prose than simply putting words on paper. A story is crafted and shaped and presented to the world as an expression of an author’s skills.

The physical book readers hold in their hands must have the same care of presentation and craft as the story text. Because of this, we only accept as many books as our small staff can devote complete attention to.
